In which we are eavesdropped on

Dagnir: *lounges in Lio's office*

Feanor: *studies*

Turgon: so has Celegorm told his father yet?

Ecthelion: Not that I know of. I will ask him later what the status is.

Turgon: I meant it. If he doesn't tell uncle soon, I will

Ecthelion: I know. I'll ask him.

Dagnir: *gets distracted licking himself*

Feanor: *is used to Dagnir's bathing and grooming rituals, can still hear, whatever*

Turgon: I can barely deal with the drama the Feanorians bring. Even Maglor. As... fond as I am of Maglor. Did I tell you that we've gone further?

Feanor: ...

Ecthelion: You have not. Do I want to know?

Turgon: well, I wouldn't go into extreme detail. It's the kids he's got. Apparently all I needed to get past some of my reluctance was seeing him act like a father

Ecthelion: *laughs* You're like a woman, looking for a good mate.

Turgon: Hush. Hush! Although they are my great grandkids, it'd be nice to be able to be there more for them

Ecthelion: Has Idril met them yet? As they are her grandchildren...

Turgon: I may not have told her yet

Turgon: what with her antipathy towards her cousins

Ecthelion: All her cousins?

Turgon: oh, she likes Finrod.

Ecthelion: I was meaning more Maglor

Turgon: yep. I haven't really told her about me and Maglor. She... doesn't react well

Ecthelion: So you're all done with that human woman then.

Turgon: I don't want to be. But things suddenly went a lot faster with Maglor...

Ecthelion: seriously How do you reconcile your hate of the Feanorians with your attraction to him?

Turgon: I haven't yet, but I've moved past the drinking stage

Ecthelion: Is this healthy? *does worry for him*

Turgon: I really have no idea. And Eowyn would have... died very soon, comparatively, which would have been terrible for me as well.

Ecthelion: True, and that's sensible. *muses* Although I don't know that you should discount current happiness against future unhappiness...

Turgon: well, look how I reacted to past unhappiness

Ecthelion: I know. I was more just thinking out loud.

Ecthelion: You must do what feels right for you.

Turgon: and I suppose that means something involving Maglor naked

Ecthelion: Well, if that's what you want.

Turgon: Kinda is

Turgon: but back to his asshole brother, he has to tell uncle Feanor about the second silmaril

Ecthelion: I know. You've said.

Turgon: Yeah, just re-emphasizing since Celegorm is your problem

Dagnir: *hops off the desk and wanders, cutting Feanor off from what comes next*

Ecthelion: *arches an eyebrow at him* Perhaps have your lover speak to him as well, since they're brothers.

Turgon: he's not my lover!

Ecthelion: Close enough.

Turgon: fine, I'll tell Maglor

Ecthelion: I'm just saying, if you're planning on taking this directly to Feanor, you might want to let Maglor know that YOU know.

Turgon: fine, fine. Good point

Ecthelion: *is slightly concerned about this* You will not be able to keep your relationship with him in a bubble. Your antipathy towards the rest of the Feanorians, and the fact that you're the king of this city, and must make some hard decisions regarding them, means you will have to involve him, and be honest.

Turgon: ...you're right. I should keep away from Maglor.

Ecthelion: I didn't say that. I'm just saying... I had to consider my role in this city, and as your friend, when getting involved with Celegorm, and I have had to work to balance these things.

Turgon: I know. But still. I shouldn't. Not with him

Ecthelion: *softly* Turu, do what makes you happy. Not what is the easiest. Happiness is worth the hard work.

Turgon: mng. I should go to work

Ecthelion: *expected he would after that*

Turgon: *leaves*

Ecthelion: Bye!

Feanor: *annoyed that the horrid cat walked away, but has heard enough to have his suspicions about the second silmaril confirmed*

Feanor: *also, COMPLETELY HORRIFIED that his son is romancing Turukano - however, now he understands why Maglor is working against him, must be that he is an agent of Turgon*

Mng. I should have just stayed loyal to Elenwe.
