I was happy to see my father again

I was going to Tyelkormo's house when a voice I knew well called me by my real name...

Caranthir: *after saying good-bye to Yaban, he went to the shops and bought a gift for Celegorm. Now he is on his way to the house*

Feänor: "walking home from the House of Artificers; just found out about lightbulbs, thinks they're amazing; but notices someone walking along, who looks remarkably like one of his sons, when he was young* Morifinwë?

Caranthir: *stops walking, mind racing* My name is Loras...

Feänor: *rushes up to him* No, no. I know you!

Caranthir: *can't really lie to his father* Please, I am Loras here.

Feänor: Here? *not sure he understands; keeps staring at him, he looks so YOUNG* In this city?

Caranthir: *looks around, hoping nobody has heard his father call him* Yes... I... Remember that time when I escaped the forge? You had just made the Silmarils... I ended up here, but Turgon doesn't know. So I am Loras now.

Feänor: *thinking quickly* Yes, I remember. So, you want to remain unknown? Are you not proud to be my son?

Caranthir: I am proud to be your son, Father, but what will Turgon do if he learns that I have been here before any of you came? He might decide that I am not to be trusted. *wants to embrace his father*

Feänor: Why did you not go to him in the beginning?

Caranthir: Because I came here through the library, and it was all so strange that I hid for a while. Then one night I found a book called Games of Thrones, about some strange land in a distant future. When I was discovered I blurted out a name from the book. I didn't plan it.

Feänor: *nods; taking in his face, the worried tone of his voice, and once again, how YOUNG he looks* I see. Well. You do not need to hide any longer, if you don't want to. *pulls him into an embrace*

Caranthir : *forgets about being discovered and holds to his father, feeling like a young Elf of his real age for the first time in months* I missed you, Papa.

Feänor: *nods; one good thing about being dead and having time to recover from crazy was remembering how much he loved his sons* I've missed you too.

Caranthir: I suppose I will have to see Turgon eventually, but I need time to get used to the idea. I will stay with Turko for a while, and I would like to see Maitimo too.

Feänor: You can stay with me too, if you'd like. I have room. And when you are ready to see Turukano, I will go with you.

Caranthir: "relieved" Thank you, Father. I'm not afraid of him, bu after I read what happened to his wife I thought he'd put me in jail if he found me here.

Feänor: I understand. *walks along with him, to Celegorm's house* The blame for that should be on me. I will take responsibility, if needed.

Caranthir: We all said the words, Father. And once you were gone, we killed many Elves. We tried to stop, I know I did, but it was stronger than us. *feels a bit sick at the memory of the description of the second kinslaying*

Feänor: I don't know if Turkafinwë told you, but in this place, in this time, I have released you from your oath.

Caranthir: No, we didn't speak about that. Thank you, Father. I am glad that you are here... What about you? Are you free from the Oath?

Feänor: *thinks about this* I still want to retrieve the Silmarils. They are mine. I am not inclined to cause more death and destruction over them, though. *at the moment*

Caranthir: *nods, looks worried* Will you leave the city in search of Melkor?

Feänor: At the moment, I do not intend to leave the city. But I haven't ruled it out. *not going to mention the Silmaril they already have; figures he'll be safer if he doesn't know*

Caranthir: All right, but if you do leave the city in search of Melkor, I want to go with you. *and make sure that Feänor doesn't die this time*

Feänor: *pleased and proud* I would be glad to have you accompany me, son. *but doesn't intend to put him in danger. At least not now*

Caranthir: I don't have sword yet, but I will make sure to get one.

Feänor: I am making one for Maitimo, I will make one for you too. *looks him over, to make sure of the size*

Caranthir *happy* Thank you, Father! I wonder if there are mines outside the city. I could mine and bring supplies for you.

Feänor: I would like that. Let me talk with Turgon.

Caranthir: Thank you, Father. Maybe we could do it tomorrow? I would like to spend some time with Turko first. We are cooking dinner. Do you want to come with me?

Feänor: No, I am on my way home! I have some work to do. But thank you for the offer!

Caranthir: Good-bye, father. I will ask Tyelkormo your address so I can visit you tomorrow.

Feänor: *nods* Please do. *smiles* I'm glad to see you again, Moryo.

Caranthir: *likes that nickname, smiles and waves good-bye to his father* I'm glad to see you too, Papa.

Feänor: *waves him off*
