Encounter with a Feanorian
One of the sons of Feanor ran into me on the way home. I don't trust him, not even a litle bit. Perhaps I should discuss him with Dred.
Caranthir: *walking toward Tyelkormo's house after a day of work, has
been doing some reasearch but is not yet ready to tell anyone about
it*
Boromir: *is returning to his own home after an all day guard shift. He's
tired, irritated and hungry*
Caranthir: *doesn't see the Human and almost stumbles upon him* Sorry.
*frowns a bit, another Human that looks older than him*
Boromir: *curtly* Apology accepted, but take care where you are walking. An
Elf your size could cause some damage to an unsuspecting woman or child.
Caranthir: *irritated now, realizes it is another guard* You take care
where you walk. You are supposed to be a Guard.
Boromir: *shoulders back* I am a guard, yes. That is why I gave you a
warning. *frowns*
Caranthir: *angry now* You have no call to give me a warning. *won't
say he is the king's cousin* I am Morifinwë Carnistir, and I was born
ages before you. I know how to behave, and this is a city of Elves,
after all.
Boromir: *recognizes the name instantly and is on guard. Lightly rests his
hand on the hilt of his sword, wary of any sudden moves.* I recognize your
name, Morifinwe. Your reputation preceeds you. Even in my age, your deed and
those of your family are well documented.
Caranthir: *wishes he had his sword, places a hand on the hilt of his
knife* I know what my family did. I never swore that Oath, but I know
I would have with time. I mean no harm to you... *realizes he doesn't
know the Human's name* Or to anyone in this city. My cousin has
accepted us in his town, so you'd do well to update your reading...
Boromir: *relaxes just a bit, but is still on guard* Very well. I have no choice but to accept what you say. In my land, you were viewed as a villain, but I suppose everyone deserves a second chance.
Caranthir: I think so. Even if I never swore that Oath, I think I can undestand why my older version did it. *and why they could not stop killing* Your name, sir? I gave you mine
Boromir: I am Boromir of Gondor, Captain of the White Tower...and now guard of Gondolin.
Caranthir: Well met, Boromir of Gondor. *still irritated but is trying to behave... for now* I work at the House of History. I will certainly read about you. My older self learned of the strength of Humans. *cannot yet understand why he would think them strong*
Boromir: *frowns, confused* But I am from the future. None of what I have done will be written in any sort of book in this time.
Caranthir: I have been told that we have other visitors from the future. We have books about ages when Gondor and even Elves were no longer remembered.
Boromir: *looks skeptical* But how is that possible, if what is in the books has not yet occurred?
Caranthir: *shrugs* How is it possible that I swore that Oath and you read about it. I was in Tirion trying to escape the work in my father's forge.
Boromir: *head is spinning* ...I don't know. The timeline part confuses me. I suppose I can only be sure of what happens here and now. *eyes Caranthir* And I do not trust easily.
Carnthir: Neither do I, not Gondolin guards. For now, you have done me no harm, though.
Boromir: *eyes narrowed at the "for now" remark* I would never engage in a fight without just cause. It is dishonorable to do otherwise.
Caranthir: *humorless smile* Then we have nothing to worry about, have we?
Boromir: *doesn't bother to smile at all* I suppose not. *gives a curt nod of his head and continues on his way*
Caranthir: *watches him go and continues his way* I need a sword just in case.
Caranthir: *walking toward Tyelkormo's house after a day of work, has
