More cousins in the city!
Findaráto is here, and we did not fight...
Finrod: *walking across the palace courtyard when he sees a familiar dark head and slows*
Caranthir: *still thinking about his conversation with Turukáno, and glaring a bit at the guards nearby, doesn't notice someone is looking at him*
Finrod: *remembers what Arakáno said about Carnistir being younger; as he comes closer* Carnistir, is that you?
Caranthir: *whirls around, surprised* Findaráto?
Finrod: *nods* I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you!
Caranthir: *glad he didn't pull a knife on his cousin* It's okay. I didn't know you were here. *remembers good and bad things his brothers used to say about Findaráto, can't decide which brother was right* Umm... hello.
Finrod: *glad he didn't pull a knife either; though does now carry one himself after the incident with Arakáno* I only got here recently. ...Have you been here long yourself?
Caranthir: *decides to go with the flow, glad it's Findaráto and not Angaráto* I see. I have been here for months. I came from Valinor.
Finrod: Ah. *nods* This must be even stranger for you then.
Caranthir: Yes, well... there is less light here, but I'm used to it already. And you? When do you come from? *his cousin looks a bit older than he remembers*
Finrod: From... How much history do you know?
Caranthir:I work in the House of History. I know all of it. Well... I just read about Maitimo's death a few days ago...
Finrod: *that stops him* Um. *carefully* Well, I came from the Ice.
Caranthir: Oh... It seems that I helped burning those ships... I am sorry, Findaráto. I know we don't get along that well... your brothers and I but... I can't imagine why would Father and why would I... *doesn't know what else to say*
Finrod: *nods slowly* It was another time. Another you. I can't hold it against you, cousin.
Caranthir: *is less angry about things since he talked to Turukano* Thank you, but my brothers are here, and they are still my family. They have been given a second chance...
Finrod: I had heard... I have only run across one.
Caranthir: Which one?
Finrod: Tyelkormo.
Caranthir: *winces inwardly* I live with him. Did you two argue?
Finrod: *cautiously* I'm not sure arguing is the right term...
Caranthir: He died before he came here. *feels angry, but not at Findaráto*
Finrod: He did say that. I'm sorry. *for Caranthir. Not so much for Celegorm*
Caranthir: *can't believe the conversation went well* That's okay. I'm happy he is back, that he is here. Maitimo and Makalaurë are here too *hopes this steers the conversation away from Tyelkormo*
Finrod: *quite happy to not discuss Tyelkormo, especially with Moryo* I imagine I will meet them soon enough! Arakano said Makalaurë at least was from the far future...
Caranthir: Yes, from a very distant future. He never returned, it seems. You saw Arakano? Is he still sick?
Finrod: *talking to Maglor will at least be interesting then, even if he is a kinslaying traitorous sonofa-- will get over that though* Arakano seems to be getting better! I didn't see him at his most ill though, so I don't have such a good comparison.
Caranthir: If you didn't notice, then he is better. Have you read about you and your siblings?
Finrod: *confesses* Only a little. There was a lot more to read than I expected.
Caranthir: I see... *won't tell him much then*
Finrod: Don't you find it strange, knowing things that happen in the future?
Caranthir: *thinks of all the death he's read about* Yes, but after Turko told me he had died I could not stop reading about it. *doesn't feel well at the memories* You were a good king, Findaráto. I won't say much in case you don't want to know more, but you were a good king.
Finrod: *the compliment takes him a bit by surprise* Thank you, Carnistir. I am sure I will read more about all of our deeds. I can see how it might be addictive. *already wants to read more after the little he's learned*
Caranthir: *is surprised himself at his words* Just thought you'd want to know... *wonders if Turgon drugged him*
Finrod: Are you all right? You look a bit...troubled.
Caranthir: *tries to look better than he feels, maybe Turukano did drug him* I'm well. It's just... This place is strange sometimes, and people are not the same.
Finrod: *nods* I understand.
Caranthir: Maybe your sister will show up. *hopes Angaráto doesn't show up*
Finrod: Maybe! Or one of my brothers. *not necessarily Angaráto, though of course he would not mind*
Caranthir: Maybe, yes... *Aikánaro, preferably* Where are you living?
Finrod: In a house near the park, with Arakáno. *gestures in that general direction*
Caranthir: That's good. It's good to be with family. *even with Turukano, which is strange* Father is here too, but he doesn't come out of his forge that much. Kano is going to mine for him.
Finrod: That sounds very like Fëanáro. Wait, Kano? Not you?
Caranthir: *frowns, not at Finrod* Well, Father asked Kano. *has still to tell his brother he won't mine with him*
Finrod: *curious, but doesn't want to pry* How strange... I thought you were more of that inclination.
Caranthir: *feels sick... or sad* Well, I promised Kano I would go with him...
Finrod: *looks at him* I'm sorry, clearly this upsets you... We don't have to talk about it, if you don't want.
Caranthir: No, it's okay. I have to go with Kano. Nothing is wrong. *looks at him* Where were you headed to?
Finrod: I was just heading home. And you? I hope I'm not keeping you from something.
Caranthir: No, I heard about that murder and then spoke to Turukano. *not drugged, no... just.... not feeling like himself* We can walk together if you wish. I was going home too.
Finrod: *nods* Let's. That murder is horrible.
Caranthir: *shivers a bit* Yes. Most Humans I've met are annoying, but not enough to murder them.
Finrod: It sounds very strange. *frowns*
Caranthir: I hope nobody blames father or my brothers. We are the villians in the family, it seems. Turukano said nobody was going to simply target them.
Finrod: It...doesn't sound like something you all would do... *then again, neither did kinslaying up until it happened*; still I am sure your brothers and father won't be accused without evidence.
Caranthir: I hope so. *smiles a bit* I'm glad you are here and not in the ice, cousin.
Finrod: As am I! *smiles back; it is kind of nice to see his cousin seeming much stabler than the nights of their flight from Tirion*
I'm so glad it was not Angaráto...
Finrod: *walking across the palace courtyard when he sees a familiar dark head and slows*
