Mining expedition.
Maglor: *comes to find Moryo to go out mining*
Caranthir: *is ready, with supplies for both, quite eager to go out already* Hi, Káno!
Maglor: Ready? You've got what you need?
Caranthir: Everything. *handles Maglor a bag with supplies* This is for you. *grins*
Maglor: *amused* You're very optimistic!
Caranthir: You said you would help me.
Maglor: *laughs* Now whose using words against me? You're right, I did... *shoulders the bag*
Caranthir: *smiles* I know I will do most of the work, but we'll be out and that's good!
Maglor: *nods* The guard will meet us at the gates. It will be nice to be out!
Caranthir: *follows Maglor, trying not to run* All right. So you'll take the jewels to Father?
Maglor: *sighs* I will take the jewels to Father. Unless there are too many, then you will have to help me.
Caranthir: *frowns* All right. *they approach the gates and see the guard* He is an Elf at least.
Maglor: Ecthelion spoke highly of him. *nods to the elf*
Caranthir: *nods to the guard too, only scowling at him a bit* I guess this is necessary
Maglor: *nods* You'll forget he's there.
Caranthir: *nods, looking ahead, smiling* This area is beautiful...
Maglor: It really is. Turukáno found a lovely spot. Or, I suppose Ulmo did. *grins*
Caranthir: I can feel his power... sort of... I wonder where the mines are.
Maglor: *pulls out a map he's copied* There should be entrances here and here...*points*
Caranthir: *looks at the map, looks up* Let's go then! *rushes ahead*
Maglor: *laughs* Wait up! *jogs to catch up*
Caranthir: *grins* Sorry! *runs faster, can´t stop himself* There!
Maglor: *laughing, shaking his head, calling* I'm not racing you!
Caranthir: *slows down* Isn't just wonderful to run in the open? *waits for Káno and the guard* I think that's the entrance.
Maglor: *kidding* Oh to be young!
Caranthir: *is too happy to frown* It seems to go deep into the cave
Maglor: You've brought a lamp this time, right?
Caranthir: Yes! *looks for it* Will you come with me inside the mine?
Maglor: *does not sigh* Yes. If you like.
Caranthir: Please? At least for a little while? Once I found something interesting you can leave me alone.
Maglor: Alright. Lead on!
Caranthir: *smiles, prepares the lamp and goes into the mine* It's slippery, be careful, Káno. I think we can find something for Father here.
Maglor: Good, I'd really hate to come back empty handed.
Caranthir: There must be water somewhere. Do you hear it? I wonder if we can find rubies.
Maglor: I hear it. You direct, I'm terrible at this, and anything I used to know is long disused.
Caranthir: *nods* Come this way. There might be sapphires too. *something with wings flies away* Careful!
Maglor: *follows carefully*
Caranthir: *the tunnel opens into a wide open space, and they can see the sun again* There, we can start working there. Or I can do it if you wish to go out. Just take the lamp.
Maglor: *nods* Alright. *will do a little*
Caranthir: *smiles brightly, and starts to work* I wonder if there is a mine where we can find mithril. Not this one, but maybe somewhere else.
Maglor: I bet these are rich hills...
Caranthir: I think so. Have you seen mithril in the palace? I have never been there.
Maglor: Yes, there are many things inlaid with it. Why have you not been?
Caranthir: No reason. I always find Turukáno in the streets
Maglor: It's a lovely building inside.
Caranthir: Really? Maybe now that I have to be nice to the king I might even visit him.
Maglor: *grins* Under the pretense of seeing the palace architecture of course.
Caranthir: Of course.*is collecting many rocks that have sapphires in them, no rubies though*
Maglor: *collecting what he finds, though at a much slower rate than Caranthir* Why will you not see Father?
Caranthir: *opens a small bag* Our last conversation didn't go well. Maybe... You and Turko have done all he asked of you while I was never there. Maybe he would have preferred another me, one who followed him here.
Maglor: Bollocks, Moryo. Whatever he said to you, he did not mean to hurt you.
Caranthir: How can you know that? He is not the same, but he always wanted us to do as he said.
Maglor: I ran into him the other day. We had coffee.
Caranthir: Really?
Maglor: Yes.
Caranthir: What did he say?
Maglor: That he didn't realize you were upset by the comment and that he was referring to himself, not to you.
Caranthir: *nods, grabs a rock and cleans it* Whatever.
Maglor: *goes on* I can understand not wanting to spend time with Father, Moryo...
Caranthir: *looks at him* All right, I'll go.
Maglor: Good.
Caranthir: I think we have enough gems. Even this one I have never seen before.
Maglor: Really?
Caranthir: Yes, we are done for today.
Maglor: No I mean, you found a new gem?
Caranthir: Yes, look at it.
Maglor: *peers, intrigued* Will you keep that one?
Caranthir: No, I like gems, but I don't work with gems here. *remembers the guard outside* Let's go. I'll be sure to supply father with gems.
Maglor: *gets up, can't say he's upset to be leaving the mine* Why don't you?
Caranthir: I have no place for it. *lights the lamp so they cross the tunel safely*
Maglor: Get Turko to build an addition? *grins*
Caranthir: I might. *smiles*
At least that was successful. It was nice to get out for awhile, even if I dislike mines. And Moryo seemed to truly enjoy himself.
Caranthir: *is ready, with supplies for both, quite eager to go out already* Hi, Káno!
