Turgon: *comes to Finrod’s office in the morning to discuss the fire*
Finrod: *looks up* Hey…
Turgon: Update me. *sits*
Finrod: I'm not sure what to tell you.
Turgon: Well, what caused the fire?
Finrod: It appears to be arson. We don't know who set it. *has his suspicions, but it trying to keep open minded >.>*
Turgon: Did anyone die?
Finrod: *shakes his head* No, luckily. But the girl who owns the shop and her bird are ill, naturally.
Turgon: Why would anyone burn a shop down? *frowns, tapping his arm*
Finrod: Well, you remember that Dunlending woman that was arrested? It was her shop.
Turgon: So she'd already been in trouble once... *thinks*
Finrod: So to speak. Those charges were dropped. Unless it's a random act of violence-- *a term he's more heard of than understands, and then in relation mainly to Morgoth* --it seems someone really doesn't like her.
Turgon: *nods, still tapping his arm* I don't like it. And Lio's going to go mad from not being able to be involved.
Finrod: Nor do I. I haven't had the chance to speak with him yet.
Turgon: Well, you can remind him he's still on sick leave.
Finrod: I remind him constantly.
Turgon: Good man. *pats Finrod on the arm* How does he react?
Finrod: Whines and tries to convince me he's better already.
Turgon: Such a mature individual, our Lio.
Finrod: *grins* He is, at that. The festival seems to be going well, by the way.
Turgon: Mmm. Yes. He saw the smoke and I had to tell him to go sit down while I checked it out.
Finrod: *nods* I have people working on the case, of course.
Turgon: Do you think he's going to physically throw you out when he gets the office back?
Finrod: I think he'll lack the strength to physically throw me out so soon. But I won't stand in his way, assuming he's hale enough to be back.
Turgon: This does interfere with my plans to take you swimming.
Finrod: *sighs* Yes. Wait, I thought we were riding, not swimming?
Turgon: We've got a large fountain we open up for swimming once the weather gets warm enough. Please don't think I meant the lake. We'd get eaten.
Finrod: That does sound nice. Perhaps this case will be solved quickly enough.
Turgon: There's your incentive. You've got people protecting the girl if she's being targeted?
Finrod: I will, once she is released from the healers.
Turgon: Good. I'll see you soon for an update, hm?
Finrod: *nods* Yes. Keep me sane.
Turgon: And don't let any more fires happen.
Finrod: *weak smile* I'll try.
Turgon: *pats Finrod again and leaves*
We'll see what comes back after the guards interview potential leads.
