Boromir and Finrod, of the same mind...
Boromir: *knocks on the door to Finrod's office* Sir? Do you have a moment?
Finrod: *looks up* Of course. Come in.
Boromir: *walks in and stands in front of his desk* Theoden and I went to the animal sanctuary to interview the raven, Kak, who was a witness to the fire. *places some notes on Finrod's desk*
Finrod: *nods, drawing the notes toward him* Very good... Was he at all helpful? *will read the report, but interested to hear what Boromir has to say on it*
Boromir: Well, yes and no. He mentioned that he saw the fire started from a lit glass bottle and was thrown in by a Rohirrim. I've personally heard some of the Rohirrim make threats against Nuala, but the bird is a known liar.
Finrod: *drums his fingers thoughtfully* The bottle corresponds to what they found in the shop, so that at least is true. I confess that I suspect it was someone of the Rohirrim, because of the earlier threats. The bird though... do you think he was lying? *curious to know Boromir's opinion*
Boromir: Theoden said he cheated Theodred out of some money and then lied about it. I trust my guards to tell me the truth, so I plan to tread carefully and weigh everything this bird says with thought.
Finrod: *nods* Have you heard any more threats, since her arrest?
Boromir: No, not in a while actually.
Finrod: I still think it's our best lead. I've set Gwaedhon to interviewing the guards involved in the arrest. If nothing else, perhaps we'll have more direction then. I'd rather not have to profile civilians based on their nationality, but if our initial suspicions are wrong, we'll have even less to go on than the cult case.
Boromir: *nods* I agree with everything you said. There is a history, too, with the Rohirrim and the Dunlendings. I'm hoping we can find more to go on that the word of a lying raven. Have there been any new developments?
Finrod: I'd hear that. I mean to read up more on it. *shakes his head* People are being interviewed. If you want to share that duty with Gwaedhon... Two minds would be better than one.
Boromir: Absolutely. I will find him and we will divide the task and share notes. How is Nuala? Does she feel safe? I could ask some non-Rohirric guards to keep an eye on her.
Finrod: She is recovering. *smiles a bit* And I've already arranged it.
Boromir: Good thinking, Sir. Is there anything else I can do to help?
Finrod: Just keep your eyes and ears out for any talk.
Boromir: Consider it done.
Finrod: Thank you, Boromir. *really does consider him one of their best -if not the best- recruits* I hope we can get this case sorted quickly.
Boromir: As do I, Sir. *bows slightly and takes his leave*
