A brother is someone you can have incredibly awkward conversations with
Fingon's been out of commission for a while after an incident, so I figured it was time to pay a visit now that he's at the healing point where it won't be all about his arm.
Turgon: *tugs Fingon's hair* I'm putting a ferris wheel in for the summer fair
Fingon: Oh? Is that one of those things with the baskets that goes up high?
Turgon: seats, but you got the idea!
Turgon: *shows him the sketches of all the rides he approved*
Fingon: these look fun. I'm glad that I am better now. *rubbing his arm a bit ruefully* I will have to be more careful in the future
Turgon: what were you thinking, anyway?
Turgon: jumping in front of that wagon like that to grab that cat
Fingon: It was The Cat. I felt like if I didn't...he has children
Fingon: I thought of what had happened to Feanor as a child of all things. We don't need evil cats running around because thier parent was in a state of death
Turgon: are you picturing the wars with a bunch of kittens?
Fingon: I...yes, actually
Turgon: *sits and ponders it* You did the right thing
Fingon: Did I? Thank you
Fingon: I was glad the healers were able to put the pins into my shoulder.
Turgon: *inspects* You can hardly see the damage now. Things alright with Maedhros then?
Fingon: Oh quite. *grins* He's helpful
Turgon: as it were. When is your restaurant opening? I'm ready to make you serve me
Fingon: Good question. I need to touch base on that with Mae
Turgon: I will demand the finest wines, the best foods...
Fingon: The wines WILL be my area you know >.>
Turgon: good. You will have to attend to me. Once your arm's completely better.
Turgon: I've mostly handled the summer festival. Maeglin's all excited. He's started calling me papa
Fingon: Of course. Aww is he? That's WONDERFUL
Turgon: I'm such a better father figure than a psychotic murdering kidnapper rapist, right?
Fingon: Gee that's hard to say :P
Turgon: well, Idril might have disagreed when she was in her sixties
Fingon: Well maybe on SOME counts, but all at once
Turgon: what with making her clean all the time
Turgon: perhaps I am the monster...
Turgon: Maeglin loved the blueprints for the new rides. I let him keep the illustrations for the carousel animals
Fingon: *Smiles* That sounds wonderful. I'm sure they're going to be excellent
Turgon: and you'll make an appearance? I can fob off some royal duty on you
Fingon: Of course I will. I owe you all.
Fingon: Seriously the healer's concoctions were AMAZING
Turgon: so, do you think Uncle Feanor has any idea about you and his son?
Fingon: I really hope not. It would be awkward and difficult
Turgon: good chance you might be able to convince him you're another Fingon
Turgon: he's kind of distracted
Fingon: THERE'S an idea. Perhaps I could pretend to be from one of the worlds the interesting things come from
Turgon: "I'm from... Germany. I won't be born for another several thousand years"
Fingon: THIS. but France. France is FUNNY
Turgon: what's the difference?
Fingon: Sillier accent
Turgon: how many humans have you been talking to?
Fingon: A few of them
Turgon: huh. You know, I don't really interact much with them
Fingon: I haven't for a while. But that WAS the impression I had
Turgon: speaking of Uncle Feanor, you, and interacting with humans...
Fingon: Yeees?
Turgon: I think maybe you all need to find a *new* human.
Fingon: A NEW one? How so?
Turgon: I'm just saying. I think there's a bit of overuse going on
Fingon: Wh...Oh Theo?
Turgon: Yes, Theodred
Fingon: Hmm? Oh Feanor's is TheoDEN. Theodred's the other one. Who is sort of unstable
Turgon: oh, and you had the Dred one? Okay, that's better. I got confused
Fingon: The Den one. The Dred one's his son from the future. Boromir had him I think
Turgon: I am so confused
Fingon: Theo is Theoden. Theodred was Boromir's...whatever he was. I think he's on a little....mental health retreat
Turgon: is this to do with those 'thetan' people?
Fingon: Uh.....
Turgon: *trying to remember reports he got*
Turgon: anyway!
Turgon: there has to be more in the city
Fingon: Well, yes there SHOULD be
Turgon: just POINTING that out you should tell Uncle Feanor too
Fingon: I think he likes that one though. But I can TRY
