gondolindrim | The one where I spy something shiny

I took Huan and that blasted kitten out for a stroll and came upon something interesting. Now...where to hide it?

Celegorm: Come on! You want to go for a run, don't you?

Huan: Woorrrfff! [yes! and hunt for birds!]

Baini: *following along behind Celegorm and Huan, figures she's gonna be a great hunter too if she can't be a great spy* Mew mew mew mew

Celegorm: *grins* Great, now there's no getting rid of her. Stop making friends with everyone. *turns down the road toward the park*

Baini: *happy mew* friend! *scurries to keep up*

In the pond in the park: *something is glinting*

Huan: *stops and sniffs at the kitten*

Celegorm: Leave her alone. *figures she'll get tired and head home soon*

Huan: *licks the top of her head* Woof!

Huan: *howls and trots on ahead* [hurry up! let's play!]

Celegorm: *sits down on the edge of the pond and sighs happily* Play nice. No slinging the kitten into the water. *looks out over the rippled surface of the pond and sees something sparkling.* Hmm. *wonders if some kid has dropped a trinket*

Baini: *scampers over onto his foot to look too*

Celegorm: *peers over into the water, intrigued* Uh...Baini, why don't you go play with Huan? He likes hide-and-seek.

Huan: *is busy hiding*

Baini: kay! *headbutts his shin in a friendly way and goes to hunt Huan, tail held high*

Glint: *becomes more of a seductive glimmer*

Celegorm: *looks over his shoulder to make sure the kitten has gone, then tugs off his shoes and wades into the pond* Well, what have we here? *can't quite tell what it is yet*

Stone: *sparkleshineSHINE*

Celegorm: *bends over and picks up the stone* HOLY...*looks around and shoves it in his pocket.*

Huan: *yelps and tries to sling the kitten off*

Celegorm: *shoves the stone deeper into his pocket and gets to work tying his shoes* Hey! We need to head back to the house. I forgot that I have to do...something...for Lio...

Huan: *droopytail* [No! We just got here!] Woof!

Celegorm: I'll give you an entire leg of lamb if you'll just come on.

Huan: [And, I get to dig up the flowerbed. The one with the rosebushes.]

Celegorm: Fine. Let's go.

Baini: *loses her grip on Huan and lands on her butt* *immediately starts grooming like she meant to* whygo? Lio no care!

Celegorm: Yes he will. *scoops up Baini and carries her to speed things up*

Huan: [what do you have to do?] woof?

Celegorm: Stuff.

Baini: *peeks over his fingers, enjoying the ride* what stuff?

Celegorm: Human stuff. Romantic stuff. I have a surprise that I need to get ready. *hopes Lio isn't home*

Huan: *bounds on ahead, ready to dig up the rosebushes*

Baini; you not human *scornful, is being LIED TO*

Celegorm: *rolls his eyes* Semantics.

Silm: *glowglowglow*

Baini: *wiggles around in his grip enough to notice the glow and creeps closer, sticking her paw into his pocket*
*is a very mortal cat so--* *SHRIEKYOWL when the silmaril burns her paw!*

Celegorm: *pulls her up by the scruff of her neck* Stay out of my pocket. In this case, curiosity might just kill the cat...and Lio would kill me if anything happened to you.

Huan: *sniffs at Cele's pocket* ???

Celegorm: *swats at Huan's nose* You, too. Don't you have flower beds to dig up?

Baini: *little pained noises and licks at her paw*

Baini: *huddles in hand, feeling sorry for her paw* I tell Lio?

Celegorm: *feels bad* Look...I'm sorry. *gives her head a little kiss* I'll give you some fish later. Just...stay out of my pockets and keep this a secret.

Huan: *already digging furiously in the flowerbed, then rolls around in the dirt*

Baini: *considers* kay. *nuzzles him, then goes back to tending to her burnt paw*
