I went to cheer up Feanor and things went awry
Theoden: *notices the army of cats around Fëanor's house as he approaches*
Dagnir: *teaching the latest batch about Suspect Number 1*
Theoden: Hey, Dags. *crouches down to pet his cat*
Dagnir: *arches up into it, but maintains his no speaking around Theo rule*
Theoden: you're a way more dedicated father than most cats. *knocks on the door* Fëanor!
Fëanor: *inside, being a hermit, or you could call it sulking*
Theoden: *lets himself in, has a gift for Fëanor that he can just leave anyway* Feanooor, are you working?
Cats: *sneak in!*
Fëanor: *hears him and comes out* Oh, Theo. No, I'm not.
Theoden: *dodges a kitten and holds out a wrapped package* I haven't seen you lately, so I thought I'd come by.
Fëanor: *takes it* I'm sorry, I've been.... busy. *which is a lie* But what is this?
Theoden: cookies. I made them for you.
Fëanor: *opens and looks at them* You did... thank you. *tries one*
Theoden: whatcha been busy with? *pecks Fëanor's cheek*
Fëanor: *the affection cheers him a bit* Nothing really. Mostly just thinking.
Theoden: Come to any conclusions?
Fëanor: I need to make my home more secure. I will be changing the locks.
Theoden: I get a key again, right?
Fëanor: Yes. But you will have to keep it safe. *paranoia may be rising now*
Theoden: of course. Hm, can't you use one of your crystals to only open for certain people?
Fëanor: I can... *but has other plans for that*
Theoden: you know what would cheer you up? A trip to the house of artificers
Fëanor: I am not sure... *Maglor probably is watching his moves*
Theoden: I heard they were working on a horseless carriage.
Fëanor: *tempted* Well, maybe... if we're quick.
Theoden: great! *grabs his hand* Let's go
Fëanor: Wait, I need my sword. *yes, definitely paranoid; goes to strap it on, along with a knife*
Theoden: what, in case they try to invent at you?
Fëanor: You never know. *darkly*
Theoden: *pats his arm, but isn't gonna argue. Unless Fëanor starts actually using it on people*
Fëanor: *locks his house securely before they leave*
Theoden: did all the kittens get out?
Fëanor: I think so. In any case, we won't be long.
Theoden: sorry if they destroy anything. I know they aren't my fault, but...
Fëanor: *shrugs; has been packing up anything breakable or valuable, in any case* It's fine. Don't worry about it.
Theoden: okay. *squeezes Fëanor's arm and heads off towards the House of Artificers*
Fëanor: *glances around as they walk, in case someone is following them*
Familiar pop!: *something appears in the road in front of them*
That something: *is a warg*
Theoden: *yells at the people in the street to run and grabs his own sword to attack it*
Fëanor: What the hell? *has his own sword drawn immediately*
Theoden: *stops in front of the warg* okay. I know you can think. If you don't attack, we won't have to fight you *using a soothing tone*
Fëanor: Theo! Don't TALK to it! *hurries after him*
Warg: *stops growling and moves calmly towards Theo*
Theoden: not everyone's from the same time, Fëanor...
Warg: *waits until it's closer than Theo can draw his sword and dives to bite*
Theoden: o.o
Fëanor: Damn it. *makes short work of the warg and pulls Theo to safety*
Theoden: *very not happy noises and leg bleeding badly*
Fëanor: *shouting for other guards; kneels down beside Theo to check him out* Oh.
Theoden: that... that wasn't what I was planning
Fëanor: No, I'd think not. *tells the arriving guards what happened, as he scoops Theo up* I'll get you to the House of Healing.
Theoden: kay. *gripping Fëanor's arms tightly, knuckles white and still bleeding*
Fëanor: *soothing voice* It's not bad. It'll be fine.
Theoden: it really hurts. *tighter grip*
Fëanor: I know, but we'll get it taken care of. *hurrying towards the Healers*
Update on my leg: I'm going to be here at the Healers for a while. I guess this puts off my exploring of the tower on the lake and that's all I'm going to let myself dwell on right now.
Dagnir's been keeping me company.
