Maglor: *goes to Turu's office*

Gelgannel:: Hello, sir

Maglor: Is Turu in? *mainly a rhetorical question, because it's Turgon*

Gelgannel:: shall I tell him you're here?

Maglor: Tell him to come out.

Gelgannel:: *goes to do so*

Turgon: *confused and comes out of his office* Maglor?

Maglor: Hey. Come on, I have to tell you something.

Turgon: I was doing paperwork *but follows alongside Maglor*

Maglor: You're always doing paperwork. *heads for Turgon's rooms*

Turgon: *follows* What's going on?

Maglor: I brought us food! *makes sure there's no Dagnir around or open windows*

Turgon: we couldn't eat this in my office?

Maglor: Nope, I plan to be much more candid than that.
5:30 PM

Turgon: *sits at the table* what's going on?

Maglor: Did you know that horrid ugly cat spies?

Turgon: Yes. He works for Lio

Maglor: I mean on me. And therefore you. And not for Lio.

Turgon: ...for who?

Maglor: Not important. But you might want to tell Lio is spycat is only as loyal as his pay.

Turgon: no, it's very important. Who, Maglor.

Maglor: *irritated* My brother.

Turgon: *string of curses* Celegorm!

Maglor: That's not the important part!

Turgon: it very well is, if he's fucking spying on me!

Maglor: But he isn't, he's spying on me. Listen, Turgon.

Turgon: I'm still being spied on by your asshole of a brother!

Maglor: *scowls* The two of you are both insufferable.

Turgon: and I bet he threw his tool under the wagon the second he got a chance, didn't he.
Turgon: I'll have a talk with Lio about his little spycat

Maglor: *regards him mildly*

Turgon: what? What else do you want?

Maglor: For you to not freak out and try to bring some kind of case against my brother.

Turgon: I'll let Lio deal with him.

Maglor: Thank you.

Turgon: but your brother has no grasp of boundaries, does he

Maglor: *annoyed at Celegorm* Obviously not.

Turgon: but I won't string him up in the town square, if that's what you're worried about

Maglor: It is your fondest dream. *wryly*

Turgon: if it was, I would have already done it. But I'm not that interested in kinslaying

Maglor: *changes subject* Do you really want to give the jewel to my father?

Turgon: I'm aware that he's prone to causing large amounts of destruction when his property is kept from him
Turgon: what do you expect he'll do with it?

Maglor: You didn't answer my question.

Turgon: My answer was yes. But I'm willing to hear your counter-arguments.
Turgon: *gestures* Sit and tell me, Maglor

Maglor: Give me a night to put them together. *but sits*

Turgon: can we eat while we talk about this?

Maglor: Yes. I was feeling nostalgic so it's good old fashioned pub food.

Turgon: very good. *tastes it curiously*

Maglor: *takes a bite of steak and blue cheese sandwich*

Turgon: now. Give me your reasons, because Celegorm has exceeded my patience and his time limit.

Maglor: My reasons are unrelated to Celegorm. *though Celegorm is on his side in this, which is good*

Turgon: then?

Maglor: *frowns* It's hard to explain, Turu.

Turgon: I'm giving you a chance to. Stop dodging.

Maglor: They're more powerful when they're together. I feel that power would be incredibly volatile in my father's possession.

Turgon: And what does he intend to do with them, then?

Maglor: Honestly, I have no idea how he plans to use them.

Turgon: then why are you so afraid?

Maglor: Because I have no idea what power is in them. *well. a little idea, but that was long ago*

Turgon: they're meant to be a good power.
Turgon: and I promised your father a second chance. All of you a second chance

Maglor: Do you think they are? A good power?

Turgon: Yes. Unfortunately, everyone wants them. Including their creator

Maglor: Mmm.

Turgon: and how likely is your father *not* to turn violent if his jewels are kept from him?

Maglor: I don't know. There's no oath and he's got a second chance, remember?

Turgon: *gently* Maglor, you haven't given me any reason not to tell him beyond 'they're powerful together'

Maglor: *frowns* I'm not sure what to tell you.

Turgon: WHY you're worried. All of it.

Maglor: *raises an eyebrow* Careful what you ask for...

Turgon: I can't operate if I don't know anything, Maglor.

Maglor: Alright. I'm worried that if my father held both - or all three - silmarils, he might do something that goes drastically awry. I'm worried that if he doesn't get this one back, he'll do something else drastic. I'm worried that either way leads to families getting torn apart. Again. *darkly* How's that?

Turgon: what drastic thing will he be doing? *not dismissive, just waiting for the answer*

Maglor: If I knew, I wouldn't have to wonder and worry.

Turgon: and you're telling me everything?

Maglor: All I know.

Turgon: I'm still going to be informing your father that Celegorm has the second silmaril, after considering your vague arguments.

Maglor: He already knows.

Turgon: then what were you expecting me not to do?

Maglor: Not to give it to him.

Turgon: I can't give anything to anyone. I don't possess the silmaril

Maglor: *indecipherable noise* Eat.

Turgon: *sighs and digs in*
Turgon: were you expecting me to shoot your brother with an arrow, take the silmaril, and give it to Feanor?

Maglor: No.

Turgon: this really is very good food.

Maglor: *nods* It's warm and filling. From The Silver Tree.

Turgon: so I suppose I'll have to have a talk with your father and officially excuse myself from your family drama

Maglor: *looks up, cocking his head*

Turgon: 'I'm sorry, Uncle, but you're all going to have to work this out without government intervention. Recall there are penalties for assault, even if it's Celegorm.'

Maglor: I... Thanks.

Turgon: *leans over to kiss Maglor lightly*

Maglor: *sighs, relaxing a bit*
