The one where I screw up...again.
Yeah, I know I probably shouldn't have spied on my brother, but Turd-u is trying to make it more of an issue than it should be. I think someone needs to be taught a lesson...after I find somewhere to hide the silm. And find a way to get back in Lio's good graces.
Celegorm: *comes home from scouting out new locations for the silm in his pocket. has been unsuccessful*
Ecthelion: *stops and just looks at him when he comes in*
Celegorm: *walks in and sees Lio looking odd* ...what's wrong?
Ecthelion: You've been using the cat to spy on Turu and Maglor?
Celegorm: Yes...well, the cat told me that my brother had been [uses same filthy word that Dagnir used] Turgon, so I paid him some fish to get some additional information.
Ecthelion: Your idiot brother told Turgon.
Celegorm: *sighs* Yeah, I figured he probably would. But to be honest, that is the least of my worries right now. Did you know Father is planning to build a bomb? A big bomb? A bomb that Kano said could destroy half of Middle Earth?
Ecthelion: I don't know what your father is doing. You don't understand. He was calling it treason! He wants ME to take care of you.
Celegorm: *snorts* Treason? Bullshit. How is a cat watching my brother in any way treason? If he wants to pull that shit, I can play that game.
Ecthelion: He thought you were having the cat spy on HIM. He kills for treason, Cele. *a little misery creeps into his voice*
Celegorm: It has nothing to do with him...well, okay a little to do with him, emphasis on little since I'm assuming he's hung like a pimple. I assume he's still upset about Curufin and I taking over the last time we were here...
Ecthelion: Do you not understand what I am saying? He wanted me to deal with it. He wanted me to kill you.
Celegorm: *looks utterly shocked* What???! What the hell? I'd like to see him fucking try to kill me. That rat bastard. I swear to Eru, he's as crazy as Father.
Ecthelion: It's not going to happen. We talked to Dagnir. The crime against you has been reduced from treason to stupidity.
Celegorm: *is pissed off* And why is he dragging you into this? If he wants to have a pissing contest with me, he should do it himself instead of sending you.
Ecthelion: Because I'm captain of his guard. And he doesn't want to deal with it. *is a bit angry at Turu* He promised Maglor he wouldn't kill you, so he's making me deal with the whole thing.
Celegorm: Of course he doesn't want to deal with it. That's why he's an ineffective leader and his people were so easy to sway to a new leader. *takes a deep breath* He's an ass. But I guess I am, too...I shouldn't have used Dagnir to spy on Kano. Of course, he shouldn't have come offering the information first, so...
Ecthelion: *crosses his arms over his chest; looks miserable* I've dealt with Dagnir - he won't be offering any more information. Just... can you please talk to me before doing stuff like this? I know why you didn't but... it totally blindsided me.
Celegorm: *blinks a few times and realizes that its not all about him* Oh...Oh, Lio...I'm so sorry. I got so caught up in trying to keep Kano from making a huge mistake and trying to keep Father from killing us all that I did not stop to think about the effect all of this would have on you.
Ecthelion: *nods* I know your father troubles you. But Maglor seems to be determined to stay with Turgon, and I don't think anything you can do will stop that.
Celegorm: *gives Lio a defeated look* Probably not. The thought of him and Turgon makes me physically ill, though.
Ecthelion: *shakes his head* Don't think about it, then.
Celegorm: *comes up to Lio and puts his hands on Lio's shoulders* I'll try not to, but you'll have to help me.
Ecthelion: I will but... just... promise me you won't keep going after Turgon? If Maglor can't restrain him, if he makes me deal with you again...
Celegorm: *looks serious* I promise. I had no idea he'd abdicate his duties and push them off on you. That's not fair to you and I won't put you through it again.
Ecthelion: *leans a little* Thanks.
Celegorm: *pulls him into a hug* I'm hard to deal with, aren't I?
Ecthelion: I love you. I don't want to have to choose between you and my duties.
Celegorm: *hugs him tighter* I know and I love you, too.
Ecthelion: *nods* Okay.
