Fëanor: *has the first silmaril safely stowed away, but can't stop thinking of the second one - it burns in his thoughts, until suddenly all is quiet and then he wonders why*
Fëanor: *decides it's time to pay Celegorm another visit; stalks over to his house and pounds on the door*
Celegorm: *sighs and opens it* Father. What brings you over on this fine, sunny afternoon?
Fëanor: My silmaril. *glances around* Yes. A nice day.
Celegorm: Nice to see you, too. Hope you are well.
Fëanor: *oh, pleasantries, yes, he can do those* Very nice to see you as well, Turkafinwë. And I'm fine, yourself? *perhaps this will get him his silmaril?*
Celegorm: I'm doing well, thank you for asking. *wry grin* As is Lio.
Fëanor: *right, Ecthelion* Is he home?
Celegorm: No, he is at work right now. *holds door open* If you would like to come in, you're welcome.
Fëanor: *trying to maintain this pleasantness; also, maybe will get a sense of his silmaril* Yes, thank you.
Celegorm: *gestures at a chair and sits on the sofa, just waiting*
Fëanor: *sits and looks at him* Where is the other silmaril?
Celegorm: *wide-eyed innocence* I gave you the silmaril.
Fëanor: *strives for patience* The other one.
Celegorm: I'm not sure what you mean. I gave you the one I had.
Fëanor: There was a second one. I know there was.
Celegorm: There may be a second one, but I don't have it. *gestures* You can look around if you'd like.
Fëanor: *sighs; knows it's not here, he could tell if it was* Where is it? It was here before.
Celegorm: I honestly don't know where it is. *shrugs* It could be anywhere. *technically, it could be*
Fëanor: How did you lose it?
Celegorm: You're assuming I had it to begin with. *has never admitted that*
Fëanor: *gives him a Look* I know you had it.
Celegorm: I gave you the one I had. If there is another, I don't know where it is. *gives him a look back*
Fëanor: *more lies* It's not in the city any longer, is it?
Celegorm: I already told you that I don't know where it is. *isn't lying. The bird could have taken it anywhere*
Fëanor: *shaking his head* I can tell it's gone.
Celegorm: *annoyed* Then you can tell I don't have it. I can't give you what I don't have.
Fëanor: Why wouldn't you give it to me before, when I asked?
Celegorm: I gave you the silm. I don't have another one. *stands up* I'm not sure why you keep belaboring that point.
Fëanor: *stands* What if it falls back into Morgoth's hands? You should have given it to me.
Celegorm: Whatever. I don't have another silm to give you, so if you are looking for it, look elsewhere.
Fëanor: *frowns* Fine. Fine. I will find it on my own.
Celegorm: *nods, hoping that is over* I don't suppose you've seen Kano lately. I wonder how he is doing romancing his cousin.
Fëanor: I have seen him. He... actually apologized to me. *rolls his eyes* Don't remind me of that nonsense.
Celegorm: At least we agree on that.
Fëanor: I cannot even imagine the appeal.
Celegorm: Nor can I. *thinks of Turu and shudders*
Fëanor: *not quite kindly* At least Ecthelion is a decent sort.
Celegorm: *mildly amused* He is decent, yes. Quite decent. I'd go as far as to say he's wonderful.
Fëanor: Better than your other romances, from what history books tell me.
Celegorm: *chuckles* By leaps and bounds. When it comes to romance, I don't have the best history.
Fëanor: *still annoyed by the whole silmaril thing, but okay, can smile at that* Very true. Make sure you don't ruin this one.
Celegorm: *laughs* I'll do my best to keep from sodding it all up. Lio's very patient, though...which is a good thing because I'm not.
Fëanor: Yes. That's very true. Hopefully he keeps you from doing rash things.
Celegorm: He has...for the most part.
Fëanor: *hmmm, wonder if Ecthelion knows about the silmaril, and if he can be... convinced to tell* I suppose that's good.
Celegorm: *nods* Well...I do hope you will stop by again when you have something more pleasant to discuss.
Fëanor: I... perhaps. Thank you for your time. *if not for anything else*
Celegorm: *holds the door open* It was good to see you, Father. I mean that. And I do wish you well.
Fëanor: *minorly less crazy today* Well. Same to you, I guess.
Celegorm: ...okay...*sighs and shakes his head*
Fëanor: *hurries off to make a new plan*
Celegorm: *shuts door, happy it's all over*
Fëanor: *decides it's time to pay Celegorm another visit; stalks over to his house and pounds on the door*
