Melkor. You should kneel ([personal profile] princessmelkor) wrote in [community profile] gondolindrim2012-12-28 09:30 pm

Nearly lost my candy and I'm being forced into cohabitation

When last seen, I'd decided to start screaming and kicking my feet, because that solves problems.

It helps to have immense power behind the tantrum, I'll admit.

Melkor: *stopped his tantrum when he heard a healer come and scrambles for the nearest hiding place, under a couch, unaware one little leg is sticking out*

Eowyn: *is looking for her* Child?

Melkor: *terrified squawk, not used to controlling this body yet and tries to wiggle further under but can't*

Eowyn: *tries not to smile* I can see you.

Melkor: ...no you can't!

Eowyn: No, pretty sure I can. Come on out.

Melkor: *mutters and comes out*

Eowyn: Why were you hiding?

Melkor: *sullen look* I don't want to go back to my cell

Eowyn: It's not a cell. It's a bed.

Melkor: feels like a cell *frowns*

Melkor: *wobbling on his feet, still malnourished and clutching the bag of candy that Arakano gave him*

Eowyn: Here, let me help you. *holds out a hand*

Melkor: *looks at it, confused*

Melkor: *reaches out and high fives?*

Eowyn: *takes her hand and pulls her close, scooping her up*

Melkor: *annoyed noise* hey!

Eowyn: Just bringing you back to bed. You still need rest.

Melkor: I'm leaving! I'm checking out! *little flail, but not too big of a flail in case he falls*

Eowyn: No, you're not. *tucks her back in the bed; takes the candy from her* What's this?

Melkor: that's mine!

Eowyn: Candy? Where did you get that?

Melkor: an elf gave it to me

Melkor: *grabby hands*

Eowyn: *nods and puts it on the bedside table* You can keep it, but you must eat some more broth first. We need to build up your strength.

Melkor: and then I can leave?

Eowyn: *shakes her head* No, we're going to try to find your family.

Melkor: *frustrated huff, losing strength already* I haven't got one

Eowyn: You don't? *signals for an aide to bring her a bowl of broth* What's your name, child?

Melkor: ...*looks at Eowyn, deciding to trust her* Melkor

Eowyn: *surprised, but figures the child is traumatized from being without her family* I'll call you Melly, then.

Melkor: *affronted noise* Melkor

Eowyn: That is not a name that will endear you to these elves.

Melkor: but it's *my* name

Eowyn: Yes, of course... *poor confused child* but let's not get the elves angry. *takes the broth the aide brings, beef this time! Starts feeding it to Melly*

Melkor: *upset noise but eats, stopping after a bit* but if I don't have a family, does that mean I can leave?

Eowyn: That means we'll have to find you a family.

Melkor: *freezes* what?

Eowyn: We can't let you be on your own. You're a little girl. You need someone to care for you.

Melkor: I can care for myself!

Melkor: I am smarter than any of you

Eowyn: You were very ill and uncared for when you came in. *continues feeding her*

Melkor: a temporary setback...

Eowyn: Mmmhmm.

Melkor: don't patronize me

Eowyn: I'm thinking.

Melkor: ...I don't want to go to an elf. *sounds scared*

Eowyn: Why not? Because of your name?

Melkor: I don't like elves

Eowyn: Hmm.

Melkor: I can take care of myself! I can

Eowyn: Well, I have room in my place... *considering it - why not take in this child who clearly needs help*

Melkor: ...really? *actual affection in his face that he tries to hide quickly*

Eowyn: *sees it though; that makes up her mind* Yes, really. I'll talk to the king.

Melkor: You don't live with any elves, right?

Eowyn: I live by myself.

Melkor: ... I might be amicable. *clutching Eowyn's hand without realizing*

Eowyn: *pets gently* Oh good.

Melkor: *eyes the candy and makes a grab for it*

Eowyn: Just one.

Melkor: mnnng. *holds out his hand for the one candy*

Eowyn: *gives*

Melkor: *devour* I'm only staying with you until I have the means to leave this city, I hope you realize.

Eowyn: Of course.

Melkor: It may take me years. *eyes Eowyn critically* Will you survive that long?

Eowyn: I'll try.

Melkor: *little nod* I can make it on my own if you die of old age, of course...

Eowyn: Probably you don't have to worry about that yet.

Melkor: I don't want you to worry

Eowyn: I won't. *smiles* Now you should rest. And get better. So you can come home.

Melkor: *little nod, eyes on the bag of candy, wondering if he's going to have to sneak back to Arakano to get more*

Eowyn: *notices* You can have this candy. Just not all at once.

Melkor: *GLEE*

I will admit that perhaps my time in the city of Gondolin has not gone... well, but it shouldn't be to the point that I need held in someone's home as some sort of child. Now that I know the elves cannot see me for what I truly am, I should be able to eke out my own existence.

But Eowyn does seem determined and... she's not bad.
