I wonder who I'll meet today. It always seems to be someone new!
Eowyn: *walking home from the market with a basket of goods*
Boromir: *is lost as a ball in high weeds. Spins in a circle, then looks around for someone who looks approachable* Excuse me, ma'am, could you direct me to the House of History? I'm new here and a little lost.
Eowyn: Oh yes, certainly! It's just... *pauses, looking at his face; it is so familiar and yet, such a distant memory to her... oh* Boromir?
Boromir: *eyebrows raised* Yes. Do we know each other? *stares at her but nothing seems familiar*
Eowyn: *nods, slowly* Yes, well. I am a bit older than you might remember.... I am Eowyn.
Boromir: *jaw drops, then he snaps it shut.* Oh. Of course! I can see it now. *blinks a few times, can't take his eyes off of her face* You look...well. How are you? How long have you been here?
Eowyn: *grins at his surprise* I am well, thank you. I've been here a few months now. I heard you just arrived?
Boromir: Yes, about 10 days ago. It's been challenging. Nobody is as I remember them, and everything here is strange. All the Elves...
Eowyn: Mmm, yes. They do take some getting used to, don't they? Here, I'll walk you to the House of History. *takes his arm* Where are you staying?
Boromir: In an apartment on the west side of the city. It's nice enough, but it's not home. I guess you know what I mean. Joining the guards has helped. It gives me something to do. What about you?
Eowyn: Oh, you're with the guards? That seems very well-suited. *smiles* I am working at the House of Healing. They needed human healers badly.
Boromir: You always were a talented healer. *gives her a look* I don't suppose that Faramir has turned up, has he? I have asked after him several times, but nothing so far.
Eowyn: *sighs* No... I keep hoping for him, but nothing. *shakes her head* I am afraid that is selfish though, to wish him out of home, to here.
Boromir: Then we are both selfish. He always did like you, Eowyn.
Eowyn: *smiles at him* And I loved him.
Boromir: *eyes wide* I...oh...*looks at her intently and wonders what happened* I didn't know.
Eowyn: *considers for a moment* I cannot tell you much, but I can tell you this: in the time when I come from, Faramir and I are married. For years.
Boromir: O.O Married??! *smiles* Then, you're my sister. *gives her hand draped over his arm a pat*
Eowyn: *nods* Yes, exactly. *thinks if she ever gets home, Faramir will be pleased to hear about this* I am glad you're here. It's good to have more family.
Boromir: It is! You should come over for dinner one night. We have a lot to talk about. *wonders how much he should ask* I've seen Theo...and Dred. Dred seems the same but Theo...
Eowyn: *nods* He is very different, isn't he? I ... have a hard time reconciling him to the uncle I knew. Oh, and he just knows we're family, he doesn't know how, in case that comes up. Dred and I aren't saying anything.
Boromir: I had gathered that. I imagine it would be hard for a man that young to reconcile himself to being a father. *grins* I do catch myself staring at him, trying to see the old man that I knew.
Eowyn: I do as well! But Dred is much as I remembered so that is good.
Boromir: *smiles to himself* I'm glad Dred is here. He's been a help in adjusting to everything.
Eowyn: *notices that smile* He's been a good friend to Theo, I'm glad he can be one for you too.
Boromir: Do you still ride? I have a horse now, if you'd like to borrow her. Elvish horses are very different than the ones I had back in Gondor, but she's a sweet mare.
Eowyn: I haven't been on a horse since I've been here, but I would love that. *smiles*
Boromir: *grins* Just let me know and I'll have her saddled and ready for you. *looks up at the large building in front of them* I guess this is my stop. *raises her hand to his lips* Thank you for showing me the way.
Eowyn: I would love that. And you're very welcome. Please, come and visit sometime. Dred and Theo know where my house is. You should come for dinner.
Boromir: I will, definitely! *gives her a hug* It's great seeing you!
Eowyn: *hugs back* It is! I am glad we met up!
More family showing up! It will be lovely to get to know Boromir. But oh, I do hope, that if he comes here, Faramir remembers us being together.
