At least atar is keeping busy?
I finally went by Father's for my sword, and to see what he is up to... I hope nothing disastrous.
Maglor: *comes by Fëanor's during the day*
Fëanor: *working on more swords; is actually creating something of an armory*
Maglor: *knocks loudly*
Fëanor: *looks up* Come in!
Maglor: *enters* Father.
Fëanor: Kanafinwë.
Maglor: I was wondering if you had my sword ready?
Fëanor: Oh yes, just a moment. *goes over to the sword rack he's created and pulls one out* Here you are.
Maglor: *unsheathes and examines it; it's beautiful of course, perfectly made* Thank you. It is perfect.
Fëanor: *nods* I'm glad you like it.
Maglor: *sheathes it again, then gestures around* What's all this then?
Fëanor: *looks around* Oh. Well. I thought more well-made arms might be beneficial to Turukáno's city.
Maglor: *arches an eyebrow* That's generous of you.
Fëanor: I noticed some of the swords the guards were carrying. Inferior. >.>
Maglor: *mouth quirks* Indeed.
Fëanor: *also wants everyone to be well-armed when the time comes* And who makes better weaponry than I?
Maglor: *honestly* No one.
Fëanor: There's also a nice selection of daggers over there, if you want one.
Maglor: *goes to look* Have you made anything...besides weapons?
Fëanor: Over here... *leads him to a shelf on which some jewels are displayed*
Maglor: *well that's a slight relief; looks around*
Fëanor: *also has a stack of notebooks with sketches and ideas* I keep myself busy, do not worry!
Maglor: *spies the books* Oh, I never worry about that, atar. *gestures* May I?
Fëanor: *considers; there's nothing incriminating in there* Go ahead.
Maglor: *pages through the sketches and notes, curious*
Fëanor: *goes back to working on a dagger with a jeweled hilt* What about you, Kano? How are you keeping yourself occupied?
Maglor: Practising for the festival, mainly.
Fëanor: Oh yes. I heard you play yesterday. *was lurking at the edges of the crowd*
Maglor: *glances up, mildly surprised* You came?
Fëanor: Oh yes. *smiles*
Maglor: But you dislike the vast majority of people... *shrugs* Anyway, the festival will be over soon.
Fëanor: Oh, I do. I just like to see everyone all together.
Maglor: Ah. I suppose I do not know what I shall do after it is all over. *does not mention his and Tyelko's vague plans to explore the tunnel*
Fëanor: *thinking, thinking* You could... perhaps... if you would like, assist me.
Maglor: *carefully* Assist you how?
Fëanor: I am looking for some jewels... *hastily* Not the silmarils! Just more like those *gestures to the others* I want some stones for my collection. If you have time, I'd like you to collect them for me. *pauses* People are a little... frightened when I appear. Plus, I don't know if Turukáno would let me go to the mountains for mining, and he does seem to like you.
Maglor: I'm not sure I'd go as far as like. *has no great love of mining* I will ask if he would consider it.
Fëanor: I would appreciate it! Nothing extensive, if you don't want. Just what you can do.
Maglor: *nods* I'll consider it.
Fëanor: *nods* Thank you.
Maglor: I will let you know once I have spoken with Turukáno.
Fëanor: *nods* Did you get to enjoy the festival, besides playing?
Maglor: *nods* I did, although it is nothing like...any I've been to before.
Fëanor: *nods* Things are very different in this city!
Maglor: *you don't know the half of it* Incredibly. *besides waiting for Feanor to lose it again, also waiting for, say, Sauron to appear*
Fëanor: All these humans! They are rather odd. *thinking, of course, of Theoden*
Maglor: *agrees* Some of them are. Not all.
Fëanor: Not all? Perhaps I need to become acquainted with more of them! *considers* They are worthy of study, the fragile little creatures...
Maglor: I cannot say for the ones here, but some are strong and wise. *half shrug*
Fëanor: *nods and grabs his notebook to make notes* Good to know, good to know.
Maglor: *shakes his head, a bit amused* I will leave you to your work, Father...
Fëanor: Alright then. It was a pleasure to see you, Kanafinwë.
Maglor: *nods* And you, Father... *goes*
Fëanor: *goes back to his VERY IMPORTANT WORK*
I'm not sure why he chose me to collect gems for him. Whatever I bring back probably won't be what he wants. Still, I'll have to talk to Turukáno. And then maybe I can pawn this task off on Carnistir, mining is much more his purview than mine!
