So now I have a job... well, two jobs actually,,,
I will still help Eowyn at the Healing House... but being a Guard will also keep me occupied...
Ecthelion: *watching on of the Guard units drill in the courtyard*
Elladan: *comes looking for Ecthelion* Hello.
Ecthelion: *glances up* Oh, Elladan! Hello! Are you ready to join up?
Elladan: I think I am. I talked to Eowyn... I promised her to go at least once or twice a week to help her train the Human healers. *looks at the other guards* I really need to do something else with my time, and I've done patrols outside Imladris more than once, not to mention going further away into the wilderland.
Ecthelion: *nods* Good to know. I might assign you to the patrol on the Gates, then. At times you'll go outside the city, with the farmers.
Elladan: *nods* I could do that sort of wok. I used to visit the towns of Men outside the vale, and also the settlements of Elves near the Hithaeglir. And I am good with a sword, and good enough with bow and arrows if that is needed for defense.
Ecthelion: We've not had need of defense from the outside before. *groans* It's mostly the trouble inside the city these days, what with the wargs and the trolls appearing.
Elladan: I see. I was good at killing wargs, so I can help with that too. Do you trade with other Elves outside the city?
Ecthelion: *shakes his head* No, we are still hidden here. Only very rarely does anyone leave the city.
Elladan: All right. Just trying to get the facts right. Don't worry. I will not put the city in any danger.
Ecthelion: *smiles* Oh, I'm not worried about that. I'm sure you'll do a good job.
Elladan: *smiles* Thank you. Will I need a horse? *hopes* I can't buy one yet, and I don't want to ask grandfather for money...
Ecthelion: You won't need one for the daily patrols, but going outside the gate, yes. We have horses you can use. You can check out the stables and find one that suits. And also! Go to the armory and arm yourself with all that you need. We'll get you suited with armor as well.
Eladan: Perfect! So thank you for allowing me to work in the Guard.
Ecthelion: *offers his hand* No, thank you for joining up! We definitely need good help.
Elladan: *shakes Ecthelion's hand* I'll do my best.
Ecthelion: You can come by tomorrow morning.
Elladan: I'll be here.
