Coming to visit Grandfather

If he's still my grandfather after the bunny conversation. I guess he still is and I want to see him and thank him for the horse. I could also tell him about the hunting trip with Celegorm, but he didn't like it that much when I told him the last time.

*comes in* Hello, grandfather. Thank you for seeing me. I know how busy you are lately.

Well, you're always welcome. Most family is. *feeding some leftovers of his lunch to Idril2*

How are your two jobs working out? Settling in?

*smiles, looks at the thing his grandfather is feeding and decides not to ask*

I'm settling in, thank you. Two jobs help to pass time if you don't have a social life. I saw Maglor the other day. I asked him to help with Daeron. It worked, I think.

Oh good. That's two people sending Maglor after him. Feanorians need to be kept busy is a rule I'm learning. I've got Caranthir mining, Celegorm hunting, Maglor tending to Daeron, Maedhros working with my brother, and Feanor is probably plotting to blow up the city. Crap. Forgot about one.

Have you managed to see your grandmother yet? She's interested in seeing you.

Do you think Fëanaro would blow up the city? *can't really hide his interest in meeting him* I went hunting with Celegorm. Remember I told you?

Which one? I mean, I have a great grandmother and a grandmother... *thinks about bunny stew now, is starting to become obsessed with the image*

And I have the worst time picturing Idril with children. I don't think she can even picture your grandfather right now.

But! Just make sure she knows who you are when you go to see Idril, because she has a habit of flirting with prettyboys.

What if she never meets him? History will change and she might never become my grandmother. And that would be awkward (means the flirting part).

*likes girls too, but is more interested in boys*

Maybe you could show her a picture? I do have a camera. You know what those are?

I do. Actually, I've got one of her. *digs out the picture of Idril holding up a date, his 'she's still alive!' photo* Here's your grandmother. And you know, this is a purely academic question, but you still recall the history of Gondolin, correct?

Aredhel returning with a teenage Maeglin, him spying my daughter and becoming obsessed?

*looks at it* So now I know how she looks. Still, if she never meets Tuor then you and I won't be related. *a little sad at the thought*

Well. Aredhel arrived here the other night. The Aredhel of this time. *sips his coffee* That changes things drastically, and yet you still remember your version and your relation. I think you're stuck being part of my bloodline.

Of course, I'm no scientist. Just 'the wise' and all that crap.

As long as I don't turn into a bunny... Forget I said that! It's still strange. I watched a movie a few days ago, Back to the Future. If what they say is true I could disappear if Idril doesn't marry Tuor one day.

Do you FEEL disappeared? Because I think I offered her Gelgannel's hand in marriage to get her out of her rooms.

Not that I'm not all in favour of Tuor. Apparently I quite liked the man.

No, it will happen when she marries Gelgannel. *grins*

I wanted to thank you for the horse, grandfather. I took him to hunt and he's excellent.

Great! I'm glad. I know you miss your family, but I really do hope Gondolin works for you. *and that he doesn't accidentally pop Elladan out of existence*

It's working for now. Going out as a guard of the Gates helped, and galloping through the fields to reach the hunting area helped even more. I'll leave you now, grandfather. I know you are busy.

Gel cuts off my work around eight each night no matter what, so if you come to the palace to visit, I wouldn't be adverse. And Idril will probably be around... *leaves the invitation open*
