Not exactly a breakthrough in evidence...
I thought Ecthelion should know about Fëanor's odd feelings and Luthien's dreams, even if they don't end up meaning anything.
Finrod: *comes into the guardhouse office*
Ecthelion: *looks up* Hey...
Finrod: Good morning. *sets the customary coffee and food - this morning's offering, sausage rolls - on the table*
Ecthelion: *falls on them, starved* I think I love you.
Finrod: *grins* I've heard that before...
Ecthelion: Gosh, I was hungry... *nibbling the sausage roll*
Finrod: *takes one for himself* You do eat dinner, don't you?
Ecthelion: When I remember... *looks a little drawn; has been working around the clock, going over the evidence and studying the crime scenes again and again*
Finrod: *tsks* I saw Fëanáro yesterday...
Ecthelion: *sips his coffee* Oh really? I've seen him walking around the city occasionally...
Finrod: *nods* It was very strange.
Ecthelion: Oh, really? More strange than he is usually?
Finrod: Yes, actually. He told me something...well, I don't think useful is the proper term, but it might be of interest.
Ecthelion: Really? Related to the murders?
Finrod: Not exactly...but perhaps.
Ecthelion: *finishes his roll, and gets a pen and his notebook* Tell me.
Finrod: He said something was not quite right, that he got strange ill feelings in certain places. *relays what Fëanor told him* Then he insisted that I needed a better sword.
Ecthelion: *frowns* That IS odd...
Finrod: I was wearing my sword at the time. *as he always does now* Luthien, too, mentioned dreams. Though I believe she was planning to come to you.
Ecthelion: I haven't spoken to her yet... I'll have to. This... gives the case a whole new slant.
Finrod: *nods* It's not quite evidence...but perhaps it could be helpful.
Ecthelion: *thoughtful* There might be something bigger here, that we've missed...
Finrod: Perhaps... *briefly recounts what Luthien told him as well* I have no idea what it could mean. If they dreams are even real.
Ecthelion: It does sound like they both are... feeling something.
Finrod: *nods* And since Luthien is half maia, she could sense things beyond most elves...
Ecthelion: I wonder how this connects to the murders... if it does...
Finrod: So do I. I've been puzzling over it, but I don't see the connection. Or at least how to make it useful in catching those responsible.
Ecthelion: Damn. One more thing to figure out.
Finrod: At least it doesn't leave us in any worse a position.
Ecthelion: True, true. I'm glad you told me.
Finrod: Maybe we'll figure out the meaning once the coffee kicks in.
Ecthelion: *laughs* Let's hope.
Finrod: *grins*
