After a long bath and some rest -- one doesn't get much rest in captivity -- Finrod decides to search out his friend and cousin.

Finrod: *hopes to find Turgon in his office*

Turgon: *going through the paperwork he put on hold, hoping to be done soon to check on his cousin*

Finrod: *knocks* Turu?

Turgon: Enter!

Finrod: *slips into the office*

Turgon: It seems my guard dragon has vanished off. Hey, I'm sorry I haven't come to see you yet. Lio was in a coma.

Finrod: I was surprised he wasn't around. *sits* And I know.

Turgon: He's been a bit busy. You can hold my puppy as my apology.

Finrod: *lifts the pup onto his lap and tries to keep it from biting his bandage, stroking* Apology accepted...

Idril3: *happy wiggly puppy*

Turgon: So. We need someone to oversee the guards while Lio's out of commission.

Finrod: *scritches* That makes sense... How long will that be?

Turgon: At least a month.

Finrod: Not good...

Turgon: You want to volunteer?

Finrod: Do you want me to?

Turgon: You've been handling work for it already.

Finrod: *nods* I have. I'm happy to do it.

Turgon: Good. How are you doing?
Turgon: I want to know what happened to you.

Finrod: Less than I expected.

Turgon: Elaborate? *steps away from his desk to sit beside Finrod*

Finrod: Well, after being captured, I was mostly left alone. Occasionally one or another would come in and speak harshly, but nothing more.

Turgon: You were healthy enough to walk on out of the House of Healing, so that was good.

Finrod: Yes, nothing life threatening. Sleep and a bath did wonders.

Turgon: Did they... elaborate on why they'd stolen you?

Finrod: *rubs his forehead* Something about the city being angry and that's why time was warped. They believed their sacrifices appeased the city.

Turgon: Wonderful, my citizens are going insane.

Finrod: It was very strange.

Turgon: *nod* You're going to have to do some work about clearing this up.

Finrod: It'll be a long task...

Turgon: The city runs on long tasks.

Finrod: *grins* You have such a way with phrasing.

Turgon: Thank you *lordly*
Turgon: So this wasn't as bad as the ice?

Finrod: I am not sure they can be compared... But no, I suppose not.

Turgon: That's what I tell myself when bad things happen. 'It's not the ice'.

Finrod: *since they did not die, but won't say that*

Turgon: I'm glad Feanor didn't go overboard on the rescue and take out the guards too.

Finrod: I think we all are. *though not sure anymore that Feanor would randomly kill the other guards where silmarils and such were not involved*

Turgon: Talked him into going down there for you *arm around Finrod's shoulder* Lio woke up today.

Finrod: He did? Oh good! *relieved*

Turgon: None of my guards died. Your rescue was totally successful.

Finrod: How are YOU?

Turgon: Glad my friends are okay.

Finrod: I hope you did not worry too much.

Turgon: I did. Sorry.

Finrod: I figured.

Turgon: And I'm not happy about how many elves died.

Finrod: Nor I.

Turgon: *rests his head on Finrod's shoulder* What if more go mad, Finrod?

Finrod: *companionably* I don't know...

Turgon: I should make it law. None shall go mad and start murdering fellow citizens.

Finrod: Well, murder is already on the books...

Turgon: Yes, true.

Finrod: I need to visit Lio...

Turgon: Tell him you're in charge, don't let him injure himself when you do.

Finrod: Perhaps I'll have the healers tie him to bed.

Turgon: Good man. Give him my regards and tell him I'll be by tonight.

Finrod: I will.

Now I must go visit Lio.
