Kitchen: *setting out scraps for a cat that's been pestering them since her arrival*

Idril: *comes down and sees that* What's that for?

Chef: Oh, a little creature that knows what it wants. It's hard to resist.

Calico cat: *strides up to where the bowl has been put down and sits down to eat delicately*




Idril: Oh, what a pretty cat!

Chef: she's alright. Pushy little princess

Idril: *grins* Sounds like me. *pets her head*

Chef: I wasn't implying! *hands up*

Idril: *grins at her* I know.

Calico cat: *nudging her head against Idril's hand and purring*

Chef: one of the city's new residents, I'd wager. I've seen more of her sort around the city, including one truly ugly one

Idril: Oh? *pets the little cat's head*

Chef: she figured out we'd give her food pretty fast

Idril: *grins* No doubt. *pets her* You're awfully pretty

Calico cat: *mews sweetly up at Idril*

Idril: *smiles and keeps petting her* I think I'll keep you. I'll call you Bainil.

Calico cat: *no idea what she's saying, but loving the petting and gets up as close as she can*

Idril: *petpet, to the chef* From now on, would you send her food up to my rooms? I'll take care of her there.

Chef: as you wish, princess! *bows*

Bainil: *turns around to start eating again*

Idril: *pets Bainil's head and sits with her*

Bainil: *climbs into Idril's lap once she's done eating and curls up into a little catball*

Idril: *cuddles her* How sweet!

Bainil: *rumbling purr*

Idril: *cuddles her and takes her upstairs*

Bainil: *pokes her head up in Idril's arms to look around curiously, mewing*

Idril: *shows her around, telling her what's what*

Bainil: *lots of mews and purr noises as Idril shows her each thing*

Idril: Oh, you're just the sweetest!

Bainil: *sniffs every corner of Idril's rooms when they get there, before hopping up onto her bed and falling asleep at the foot of it, was clearly a housecat before appearing in Gondolin*

Idril: *laughs and pets her* Poor thing

Bainil: *reaches out and pins Idril's hand with one paw*

Idril: Oh, sorry. *kisses her head and stops petting her to let her sleep*

Bainil: *asleep in her new home*


They tell me she's a "calico". I don't know what that means, but apparently it has to do with her coloring and shape. Whatever the case, she's a beauty and quite gentle! I hope she'll get along with Idril3.
