Armoury or cattery?
Theoden: *buckling on his chestplate while Nyel lays on a bench, holding Fiddle the kitten over her head* You're just encouraging them.
Nyel: This is the most relaxing thing I've done all week. Hey, fuzzy. Hey.
Fiddle: Meeer.
Other kittens: *wrestling*
Dagnir: *curled up beside the swords*
Finrod: *passes by the armoury*
Kittens: *suddenly take out a rack of spears with a huge clatter*
Theoden: Gah!
Finrod: *hears the crash, looks in*
Theoden: *trying to pick everything up while kittens scale him*
Dagnir: *fixes his horrible face on Finrod and mrowls*
Nyel: *sits up quickly* Sir!
Finrod: Everything alright here?
Theoden: Just a cat emergency, sir. *bats Baini off his pant leg*
Finrod: *takes in the kittens*
Kittens: *trying not to look like they totally can take him in too*
Nyel: *sets down Fiddle*
Finrod: Do you need any help? *surveying the mess now*
Theoden: I can get these all up, I'm sure... *trying to balance them to fit in the stand properly*
Dagnir: *walks over to sniff Finrod*
Finrod: *looks down at Dagnir*
Dagnir: *looks up at Finrod, fang showing*
Finrod: *what an unfortunate looking cat*
Kittens: *race under him*
Theoden: Sorry about them, sir, I can't... only one's mine.
Finrod: That's alright. They're cats. *and who can control a cat? plus, the kittens are cute in a way*
Theoden: *little nod* I'm glad they haven't been harassing you. I kept seeing Dagnir coming in and out of Captain Lio's office.
Dagnir: *eyeroll, can't take his human anywhere*
Finrod: No, they haven't been a problem.
Theoden: Good. Good. *puts in the last spear* Sir, why have you been asking us to quit?
Finrod: *arches an eyebrow* I'm asking no one to "quit". I'm asking complete impartiality in the execution of duties, from everyone.
Theoden: Why, though? What's going on?
Nyel: I was curious about that. *not Rohirrim and pretty much ignored by them, so no clue*
Finrod: I've heard some disturbing comments made recently. While I cannot demand anyone have no prejudices, I do not think it is fitting for guards in the course of their duty to express nor act on such prejudices.
Nyel: Elves still don't like humans on the guard, then? Sir.
Theoden: *confirmed! about the Rohirrim*
Finrod: Those in the guard have accepted it. But with the growing diversity of peoples in the city, there are a variety of...tensions that have come along with it.
Dagnette: *working on the laces of Finrod's boot*
Theoden: ...Oh?
Finrod: *extracts the kitten from his boot* Dwarves and elves, some human factions, the different elven kindreds...
Theoden: ...Well, sir, I'll do good by the guard. *grabs Dagnette and gets nipped for his trouble*
Nyel: Don't worry about me, sir, I love everybody. *grins wide*
Finrod: Of course.
Theoden: How is the captain?
Finrod: He is recovering well. He'll be speaking at the spring festival.
Theoden: That's good. *tries to round the kittens up in a cloak* You are all leaving right now.
Kittens: Meer! Meer!
Finrod: Well, I will leave you both to it.
Nyel: Can I have one?
Theoden: I think they belong to whoever owns Mrs. Dagnir.
Theoden: Thank you, sir.
Finrod: *nods* Good afternoon, then! *heads off*
Things seem to have settled down a bit for the time being. Enough, at least, that there's enough daylight left to take Istel for a ride through the city before visiting Lio.
