A very short time at the festival. Duty before pleasure.
I went to the spring festival hoping to see Dred, but I could not catch up with him. Instead, I met a very tall elf and got some disturbing news.
Boromir: *settles into a chair near the stage where Maglor is playing, listens intently until the music ends*
Maglor: *carefully sets his music aside, standing to take a wander around the festival before his next set*
Boromir: *watches Maglor as he walks past, shrinks down in his chair ever so slightly*
Maglor: *senses Boromir's gaze, turns to glance at him*
Boromir: *eyes wide, swallows hard and stands* Hello. *thinks that this elf HAS to be a son of Feanor because tall* You play quite well.
Maglor: *stops* Hello. Thank you.
Boromir: *squares his shoulders and holds out his hand* I am Boromir, one of the guards. I don't believe we have met.
Maglor: *shakes* Well met, Boromir. I'm Maglor.
Boromir: I met your father. *lets that linger in the air* You certainly resemble.
Maglor: *somewhat surprised* You did?
Boromir: Yes, when he helped the guards track down some of the cult members. He is very...*chooses his words carefully*...intense.
Maglor: Ah. Yes, he certainly is...intense. *rather unfortunate to have to meet him that way too*
Boromir: *grins, happy he agrees* It wasn't the best circumstances, no, but I would guess he is intense regardless of the situation.
Maglor: That's true, but at least in a different way. *and Boromir doesn't seem to be suffering ptsd from it*
Boromir: *chuckles* That is a good thing. I would imagine most find him intimidating. *actually thinks the same about Maglor*
Maglor: *agrees* Most if not all.
Boromir: And I thought my father was intimidating.
Maglor: *curious* Who is your father?
Denethor, Steward of Gondor
Maglor: *vague nod; has heard the name, of course*
Boromir: Do you know of him? We did not have many elves that came through our lands. Not nearly so many as there are here.
Maglor: I have heard of him, yes. I know a lot of names.
Boromir: *nods, sad, missing his family* He taught me everything I know about honor, duty and valor.
Maglor: He w-- is a noble man, from what I've heard. *aside from going insane later in life, but, can relate to that scenario*
Boromir: *catches the w and stares intently at Maglor, then looks away* I will probably never see him again, so I will keep my memories of him as intact as I can...and hope they do not fade.
Guard: *runs up to Boromir* Sir! There has been a fire!
Maglor: *nods, then jerks his head around to the guard*
Boromir: *snaps to attention* Fire? Where?! How?
Guard: I don't have many details, but one of the local businesses burned nearly to the ground. A crafting shop of some kind.
Boromir: *turns to Maglor* Pardon me, but duty calls.
Maglor: Of course. Good luck.
Boromir: Until next time. *waves in parting, then dashes off with the guard*
