Melkor: *runs inside, jar clutched in his hands* look what I caught!

Jar: *filled with an enormous moth*

Eowyn: *glances* Oh! It's very big!

Melkor: I caught it all by myself!

Eowyn: Good work.


Melkor: *starts opening the jar to let it free*

Eowyn: NO.

Melkor: but it's all cramped and I wanna keep it. It can be like Eddie

Eowyn: *shakes her head* No, it's a bit moth. They're not pets.

Melkor: but but-- *BIG EYES*

Eowyn: It would be terribly unhappy. Always trying to get outside.

Melkor: that didn't stop you with me *heading to the door to free the moth outside*

Eowyn: Plus, they only live two weeks. Would you want to keep it inside all its life?

Melkor: nooo. *in the backyard and unscrews the lid and helps the moth out*

Eowyn: Are you terribly unhappy?

Melkor: No. Maybe if I could fly I would be

Eowyn: *nods*

Melkor: I'd like wings. *watches the moth fly away*

Eowyn: Me too.

Melkor: I read a whole book today. *once the moth is gone* *proud, even though it was a picture book* Next I'll be writing out my plans properly

Eowyn: It's good to have goals.

Melkor: It'll be nice to rule Gondolin. I could have a neat throne made of swords

Eowyn: I think the King is happy ruling Gondolin.

Melkor: well, I'll have to kill him *takes Eowyn's hand*

Eowyn: *squeezes her hand* I'd prefer you didn't.

Melkor: *considers, doesn't want to upset Eowyn* Imprisonment?

Eowyn: I am afraid you might be!

Melkor: noo. I decided if you're going to let him court you, I'll be really good and lure him into a sense of false security and then when I'm big, I'll strike!

Eowyn: Again, I'll really like him by that point, so I prefer you don't.

Melkor: but why! He's just an elf

Eowyn: And I am just a human.

Melkor: you're MY human

Eowyn: Perhaps you'll end up liking him?

Melkor: I could never like an elf. *glares* Never

Eowyn: Consider it a challenge!

Melkor: I don't like challenges. I just like winning *kicks his feet*

Eowyn: Can you win without a challenge?

Melkor: uh huh. Just by being better

Eowyn: I see. Still, challenges are good.

Melkor: bah *lets go of Eowyn's hand and darts off and returns with a toad* look!

Eowyn: I see.

Melkor: *holds the giant toad up higher as close as he can to Eowyn's face*

Eowyn: I don't want that in my face.

Melkor: but it's so neat!

Eowyn: Yes, but not that close. Here, let's put it back outside.

Melkor: but this one could live long enough as a pet!

Eowyn: Yes, but they don't like living inside.

Melkor: bah! *sets it down in the garden* don't eat him, Eddie!

Edric: *not interested in toads, would rather sleep in the sun*

Melkor: good Eddie. Good.
