Work and familiy...

It was almost time for his working shift to end. He would have to leave his appartment too, but that should be easy enough unless some busybody asked where he was going. He arranged the last books in the shelves and went to collect his belongings. He was very happy that Turko was in Gondolin, and he looked forward to see his father and Maitimo too. He had read a bit more about the kinslayings, and now knew when Turko died, and how. He also knew that he and Curufinwë had died along with their older brother...

*bringing the last of the flowers to Loras' section of the House, trying to think of anything that didn't involve throttling Grima, because that would probably just confirm the murderous Easterling stereotype*

A lovely lady gifted them to us. *sighs and looks up at Loras* Luthien herself. Would you like any?

No idea why she gave us them, she certainly didn't learn anything she liked here.

I hope she is. *settles a flower in a windowsill* I gave one to Grima as a joke to get him to lighten up about us working together and anyway, either the earth opens up and swallows him whole or I quit. How was your shift?

Yeah, she is. She's... well, she looks amazing. *sets aside his last flower* At least she gave me something to do. Grima's got me stalled on my histories until he agrees with any of my revisions.

Never be on the losing side of a fight, Loras. The victors disagree with you when you write history.

Sort of. It's a situation between our cultures and we're the same time period, pretty much. So we have to agree and since his wasn't under the control of a dark lord, I've heard enough of that as a reason why I keep having to ask enough permission to last a lifetime by the way, he's the one who has veto power over the official version that'll be added to the records.

He's the only Rohirric scribe and I'm the only one from Rhun. Obviously my fellow countrymen have more sense than me.

His just can't read.
yaban: (oh that makes sense)

Oh yes. Apparently the Feanorians got us started, before things went south. And we had Avari living in our lands, but I only ever saw traces of them once. When wraiths walk the land, elves stay out of sight.

*taps his chin, thinking how to rephrase the first part* You could say Feanorians were our first step in being ruled by angry angry people.

Oh, that's true. Living here's taught me that everyone in history's human. In the loosest sense of the word. Apologies, I know they're big in your culture.

Just... different side of history. Which is why I should keep working here. I think. Oh my head. *rubs it* Tonight's going to be a four cup night.

Hell, get another Easterling and they might even talk nicely about Sauron, Especially the higher ups in the government.

Yeah. My work's stymied, my shift's nearly over, and I'm not allowed to lay on top of my desk and pretend I've died anymore so I might as well head home.

Sure. I'm heading to the apartments by the guard house. How about you?

Good deal. Maybe I'll drop by sometime, I need to check out the northern gate for reasons and an excuse to be over there would be good.
